Remark on Representation Theory of General Linear Groups over a Non-archimedean Local Division Algebra

چکیده
In this paper we give a simple (local) proof of two principal results about irreducible tempered representations of general linear groups over a non-archimedean local division algebra A. We give a proof of the parameterization of the irreducible square integrable representations of these groups by segments of cuspidal representations, and a proof of the irreducibility of the tempered parabolic induction. Our proofs are based on Jacquet modules (and the Geometric Lemma, incorporated in the structure of a Hopf algebra). We use only some very basic general facts of the representation theory of reductive p-adic groups (the theory that we use was completed more then three decades ago, mainly in 1970-es). Of the specific results for general linear groups over A, basically we use only a very old result of G. I. Ol’šanskĭi, which says that there exist complementary series starting from Ind(ρ⊗ρ) whenever ρ is a unitary irreducible cuspidal representation. In appendix of [11], there is also a simple local proof of these results, based on a slightly different approach.

System of AQC functional equations in non-Archimedean normed spaces
In 1897, Hensel introduced a normed space which does not have the Archimedean property. During the last three decades theory of non--Archimedean spaces has gained the interest of physicists for their research in particular in problems coming from quantum physics, p--adic strings and superstrings. In this paper, we prove the generalized Hyers--Ulam--Rassias stability for a ...
متن کاملDeligne–lusztig Constructions for Division Algebras and the Local Langlands Correspondence, Ii
In 1979, Lusztig proposed a cohomological construction of supercuspidal representations of reductive p-adic groups, analogous to Deligne–Lusztig theory for finite reductive groups. In this paper we establish a new instance of Lusztig’s program. Precisely, let X be the Deligne–Lusztig (ind-pro-)scheme associated to a division algebra D over a non-Archimedean local field K of positive characteris...
متن کاملPrincipal Series Representations of Metaplectic Groups over Local Fields
Let G be a split reductive algebraic group over a non-archimedean local field. We study the representation theory of a central extension G̃ of G by a cyclic group of order n, under some mild tameness assumptions on n. In particular, we focus our attention on the development of the theory of principal series representations for G̃ and its applications to the study of Hecke algebras via a Satake is...
متن کاملA representation for some groups, a geometric approach
In the present paper, we are going to use geometric and topological concepts, entities and properties of the integral curves of linear vector fields, and the theory of differential equations, to establish a representation for some groups on $R^{n} (ngeq 1)$. Among other things, we investigate the surjectivity and faithfulness of the representation. At the end, we give some app...
